As I'm sure many of you already know, the XGenStudios Forums received a huge update late last night. We've now completed our transition from PHPBB to VBulletin, and with that transition comes a significant speed boost and a bunch of new features.

While we're not busy crunching away on the latest and greatest new titles here at XGen, you can bet we'll be hard at work tweaking, customizing, and adding even more features and fun stuff into the forums.

E3 Approaches. Literally billions of your gaming dollars are at stake for the next few years and the big players aren't about to let the competition get the upper hand.

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are gunning for a piece of the pie in the console market and we are approaching an extremely critical time for the entire gaming economy. Microsoft's "XBox 360" (which is now apparently the final name) will be showcased May 12th on MTV, less than a week before E3. This ought to be turning Sony's PS3 green with envy as it is being unveiled during the E3 conference. Nintendo, however, is deciding that it is better to hold off and not jump the gun. Rumor has it that Nintendo considers its console so revolutionary in it's ideas that it wants to withhold as much information as possible until closer to release.

After receiving E-mail offering assistance and well-wishing in our new field, I would like to clarify that yesterday's news post concerning our acquisition by a large company was an April fools day joke. XGenStudios has always been independent and will continue to bring you quality games, such as the new StickRPG Complete, well into the future.

XGenStudios proudly presents the much-awaited completion and major update to the cult-classic that started it all; StickRPG Complete. Play roulette or the stock market, visit the furniture store or bus depot, buy a mansion, and even run for President - if your Karma's high enough. The additions are too vast to list, check it out.

This completion wouldn't have been possible without the talent and dedication of our newest team member and developer of 'Chicken Jockey', Fiz!

March 18, 2005

Sony will be unleashing it's supposed GameBoy killer to North America on the 24th of this month: the PSP (Playstation Portable to those with acronym phobia). I myself am looking forward to the launch and am still undecided as to whether I will pick one up. The battery life is the primary concern, some reports put it at about 3 hours when playing games. Also, they intend to market it in a mandatory "Value Pack" that includes a remote control and the Spider Man 2 movie (on Universal Media Disc) with every PSP.

This seems like shameless cross promotion, but I just might be gullible enough to bite. You guys can make your own informed decisions using solid info.
